Meditation is the core of yoga. In our Western culture, it has been widely recognized for its ability to retrain the mind, balance the nervous system, and create a peaceful coexistence with things as they are. At Surya Yoga and Wellness, we emphasize meditation in all of our classes, but in the meditation specific classes, you will learn different techniques that are helpful in creating, and maintaining, a personal meditation practice. Incorporating meditation into your yoga practice, and into your life, will completely transform your relationship to everything around you for the better. No experience is required for any of the meditation classes. In fact, the messier the mind, the better the practice.
